Having just wrapped Theatre Workshop of Owensboro's 'Summer Shorts', I am familiar with all the wonderful opportunities they offer kids during the summertime. In the midst of our 'Summer Shorts' rehearsals, other theatre stalwarts were and have been working feverishly in preparation for the opening of The Dinosaur Musical on September 6th at the Empress Theater in downtown Owensboro. West Central High School’s Addie Seitz Leads Illinois to a Win in the Senior League Softball Regionals
Following an all-state softball season in the spring, West Central High School senior-to-be Addie Seitz is playing summer softball for an Illinois team that is currently participating in the Little League Senior Softball Central Region Tournament in Lexington, Kentucky. Seitz’s team is currently (2-0) and is tied with a team from Ohio as the only undefeated teams left in the 8-team tournament. She pitched a 4-inning perfect game against Kentucky on Wednesday, winning 16-0. Seitz struck out 7 of the 12 batters she faced. Just as she did during the high school season in the spring, Addie helped herself at the plate, as well, going 2-3 with 5 rbis and blasting a home run. Illinois and Ohio meet today for a chance to play for the regional championship game on Friday.
As relocation of residents begins, Metro Housing Authority head addresses future of Dosker Manor
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - People living in the three high rise buildings of Dosker Manor in Louisville’s Phoenix Hill neighborhood are in the process of being relocated. In the next year or so, we will be seeing the apartments, which have been plagued with problems, demolished. The Louisville Metro Housing Authority wants to prevent this from happening in the future.
