Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service has announced plans to launch an EMT-in-Training Program in Austin. This unique program is designed to train and prepare candidates to successfully pass the National Registry of EMTs exam and become certified emergency medical technicians (EMTs).

The EMT-in-Training Program offers a comprehensive, paid training experience. Participants will receive:

    • All course fees covered: No charge for textbooks and a loaner laptop.

    • National certification preparation: Structured training to prepare for the National Registry and Minnesota certification exams.

    • Full-time employment opportunities: Upon successful completion, graduates will be eligible to apply for full-time positions with Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service.

The program is structured to run for a duration of 10 weeks (five days a week) starting Aug. 5.

The course format includes in-person training, lectures, demonstration videos and skills training sessions. Responsive instructors will assist participants every step of the way. Participants will work closely with experienced EMTs and paramedics during field shifts to apply classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios.

Information sessions are available either in person or via live webinar. During the presentation, interested participants will learn more about the program requirements, the application process and additional program details.

Two informational sessions will be available:

    • May 30 at noon

    • June 10 at 7 p.m.

Both sessions are located at 1815 5th St. NW, Austin.
