The University of Texas is rewarding head football coach Steve Sarkisian after his run to the College Football Playoff in 2023.

During a meeting this coming week, the UT board of regents is expected to approve the details of Sarkisian's contract extension — which will nearly double his previous annual salary.

Sarkisian is signing on for seven more seasons. He'll earn $10.3 million in 2024, and his salary will increase by $100,000 each year.

In addition to this new money, Sarkisian's contract extension also features several lavish perks. The Longhorns head coach will receive two new car, a country club membership, 20 hours of private jet use and tickets to all Texas events.

Texas went 12-2 in 2023, including a Big 12 Championship victory over Oklahoma State. The Longhorns came up short of their National Championship aspirations with a loss to Washington in the Sugar Bowl.
