Work progresses at the intersection of FM3237 and RR12

Workers with Austin Traffic Signal secured traffic signal foundations last week as work progressed to install turning lanes at the intersection of FM 3237 and RR12. Plans also call for a sidewalk at the north corner of the intersection to the right of The Wimberley View office.

The construction to expand the intersection of county-owned FM3237 with RR12, owned by the Texas Department of Transportation, was approved by the Hays County Commissioners Court in April of 2023. The project was awarded to Aaron Concrete Contractors, LLC who expect the project to be completed by the April 8 eclipse, barring some unforeseen issue that could delay the completion date. If a delay occurs, said Aaron officials, equipment will be stowed as far off the shoulders as possible.

The intersection is part of a larger $16 million joint project between the county and TxDOT, which included the recently expanded intersection of 3237 with Winter’s Mill Parkway.
