AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A risk for severe thunderstorms and possible flooding is growing across Central Texas beginning Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning.

A Flood Watch is in effect for the entire Austin metro from 3PM Wednesday through 7AM Thursday morning...

All of the Austin metro counties are under a level 2 out of 5 risk from the Storm Prediction Center for severe storms, with the biggest threats being large hail, strong winds, and an isolated chance for tornadoes.

The area is also under a risk for flooding, with a level 3 out of 4 or moderate risk covering much of the Austin metro - including all of Travis, Williamson, and Bastrop Counties.

Storm activity is expected to come in two possible waves - one Wednesday afternoon into the early evening hours, and another, better chance during the overnight hours Thursday morning.

The largest threats for severe weather along the I-35 corridor, in addition to potentially flooding rains, will be large hail and strong winds. There is an isolated chance for tornadoes as well.
