Company aimed at tackling housing crisis and global warming brings demo house to Texas

MANOR, Texas (KXAN) — A company whose mission is to confront the housing crisis while combating global warming brought its mission to Central Texas with a new type of home.

InstaBuilt constructed its first home in the U.S. in Austin’s Whisper Valley community.

InstaBuilt is a construction company with the goal to “confront the worldwide housing crisis while simultaneously combatting the looming threat of global warming,” according to its website . The company aims to “revolutionize construction with modular techniques, shifting from on-site to off-site practices for speed, sustainability, and superior quality.”

The homes are up to 95% manufactured off-site and assembled on-site in 8-12 hours, according to the company.

The home in Whisper Valley is called the AsterDomo model. It’s a 665-square-foot home designed for “modern, dynamic lifestyles,” according to InstaBuilt, and it will be available for purchase in a future phase of Whisper Valley in 2026.

The homes feature technologies like panelized systems with volumetric bath pods and complete volumetric housing solutions. According to InstaBuilt, the construction process utilizes “advanced prefabrication techniques with minimal environmental impact to expedite the building process, lower costs and significantly reduce on-site waste, making the approach both efficient and environmentally friendly.”

Whisper Valley is the nation’s largest sustainable master-planned community, and it sets about 15 miles west of downtown Austin in Manor.

According to InstaBuilt’s website , it delivers its modular construction solutions anywhere in the world, but its top priority locations are Germany and Nordic countries in Europe, and so far in the U.S., it only delivers in Texas.
