AUSTIN (KXAN) — It seems the best way to stay cool under this summer heat is by taking a splash in one of the many pools open to the public around the City of Austin.
Many public city pools, neighborhood pools, splash pads and even hotels in the area also offer day passes for pool access.
Free public pools
There are a total of 27 City and neighborhood public pools open for free. These pools typically all have their own operating hours scheduled, you may find those details here.

Pools that require a payment
This list of pools is typically free to enter throughout the year but, they will require an entry fee beginning during Austin ISD Spring Break and through the end of October. Children under 1 year old are free. The fee for children from 1 to 11 years old ranges from $2 to $4. Teens from 12 to 17 years old range from $3 to $5. Adults from 18 to 62 years old range from $5 to $9. Seniors 62 years old and older range from $2 to $5, and all Veterans honorably discharged go in for free.
