Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers calls Michigan 'The Team Up North' ahead of 2024 game

Quinn Ewers may not have a snap of experience against Michigan. But the Ohio State-turned-Texas quarterback still doesn't refer to the Wolverines by name.

When asked about Texas' Week 2 opponent at Big 12 Media Days, Ewers said he was looking forward to the environment Michigan Stadium is set to bring.

"Going up to the Big House, yeah, I mean, it's going to be an awesome environment," Ewers said. "Place is going to be rocking. Especially all the hype since it's an early game. They're coming off a really big win, the national championship. Yeah, 'The Team Up North.'"

Ewers originally committed to Texas out of Southlake Carroll High School in Texas in August 2020. But he ended his commitment to the Longhorns in October and flipped to Ohio State in November. He reclassified and enrolled with the Buckeyes after his junior high school season.

Ewers did not attempt a pass as a freshman at Ohio State and handed the ball off twice in the Buckeyes' win against Michigan State. He later transferred to the Longhorns after the 2021 season.

In 2021, with Ewers on the roster, Ohio State lost to Michigan in Ann Arbor 42-27.

In two seasons as the Longhorns' quarterback, Ewers has 5,656 passing yards, 37 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also has six rushing touchdowns.

Ewers and Texas will take on Michigan in Ann Arbor at noon on Sept. 7.
