Earlier this month, Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning announced that he decided to opt in to the new EA Sports College Football game.

Manning initially didn't opt in to the game because he reportedly wanted to "focus on playing football on the field".

The former five-star recruit will serve as the backup to Quinn Ewers at Texas in 2024.

Manning announced that he was opting in to the game on July 9 via a video with his uncle, Eli Manning.

It appears there's a subtle "message" in that video that CBS Sports Dennis Dodd pointed out this week . If you pay attention to the game that Arch is playing in the video, it's clear that he's playing in practice mode.

The Mannings don't do anything by accident. I'm sure the decision to put the game in practice mode is something they were well aware of. And it certainly seems like a reference to Manning's status as a backup at Texas this fall.
