There are only 12 remaining five stars who have yet to announce their commitment in the 2025 recruiting class. This week, the Texas Longhorns will be hosting one of the most intriguing five stars of the bunch.

Jonah Williams, a safety recruit from Galveston, Texas will be headed to Austin for an unofficial visit, bringing his total visits with the Longhorns to five (according to multiple sources). He's also still very much considering Oregon, LSU, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and USC based on his "top seven" announcement and visits this summer, but the Longhorns have a great opportunity to take the lead for his services. But what makes Williams so special? And who will actually get his commitment?

    Jonah Williams, 5 Star Safety

Williams is one of the most unique prospects in the nation. Why? He is one of the best, if not the best, multi-sport athlete in the country. Not only is he a consensus top 10 player in football. He's also an elite left-handed pitcher in baseball who can throw in the mid 90s (in miles per hour) and plays basketball too. Wherever Williams lands he plans to play both football and baseball in college.

Williams brings unreal versatility, professional level instincts, and playmaking ability in every facet of the game. Last fall he racked up almost 700 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns on offense. He ran back three interceptions for scores. And on top of that he scored four punt and kickoff return touchdowns! There's truly no other player in all of high school football like Jonah Williams.

    Jonah Williams Likely Landing Spots

Who will actually be lucky enough to land Williams?

For a few months, many in the recruiting industry believed the Texas high school football star may actually be headed west to Oregon, but a handful of SEC schools are certainly still making a push. His visit with Texas this upcoming week will almost assuredly lock in the Longhorns to have the most official and unofficial in-person points of contact with Williams of any school in the nation.

Oregon is still very much in the mix to land Williams too, as they were his final official visit in June, they're building a top five recruiting class in the nation, and are fresh off incredible seasons in both football and baseball. If the visit with Texas goes well, his top two schools likely trend towards the Ducks and Longhorns.

Texas A&M and LSU seem to be firmly in his top tier for now as well though based on multiple sources. Steve Wiltfong just announced this week that based on conversations with Williams' dad the Aggies and Tigers are both still right there with Oregon heading into this week. Williams is still reportedly planning on taking more unofficial visits. Expect to see both LSU and Texas A&M on his priority visit list soon too.

While Ohio State, Oklahoma, and USC have all three been in the mix throughout Williams' recruitment their buzz seems all but gone now. The Trojans used to be a dominant force in baseball and football, but they haven't been as much lately. Ohio State and Oklahoma have both had recent successes in both sports, but neither earned an official visit from him this summer.

When it comes down to the end of his recruitment it seems like the team who prioritizes him best in both football and baseball will be landing his services. Oregon, LSU, Texas, and Texas A&M look to be in for a fierce battle here down the stretch as fall camp approaches.
