Hursboro, Lowndesboro receive grants for recreation improvements
Hurtsboro and Lowndesboro were among other communities to receive a grant from the state to improve its recreation services. The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) allocated the funds from the Federal Highway Administration’s Recreational Trails Program. It was part of a $1.4 million round of grants.

Two Lowndes County teenagers have been charged with capital murder in connection with a Thursday shooting in Montgomery.
