Porsche is gearing up to unveil the first GT model of its new 911 992.2 generation, just released this summer.

Set to take place via a livestream on Friday, October 18, the event will showcase two performance-focused variants of the new 911. The debut will be hosted by Andreas Preuninger, Director of Porsche’s GT model line, alongside racing legends Walter Röhrl and Jörg Bergmeister.

    What we know so far

Porsche’s teaser for the event hints at a car designed for the track, featuring a rear wing with a swan-neck design, similar to previous GT3 models. While the automaker hasn’t confirmed specific details, two distinct variants—rumored to be the GT3 and the wing-less GT3 Touring.

“Both have become even more emotional, offer customers even more individuality and feature innovative details,” a statement from Porsche announcing the reveal stated.

    A Legacy of track-ready cars

Porsche’s GT models have long been celebrated for their blend of track-day capability and everyday usability. The last GT3 was praised for its lightweight construction, high-revving naturally aspirated engine, and precise handling.

If the upcoming models build on these attributes, drivers can expect even more exhilarating experiences behind the wheel, with likely improvements in aerodynamics, power output, and chassis dynamics.

    Where and when to watch

The world premiere will be streamed live on Porsche’s YouTube Channel at 18:30 CEST (12:30 p.m. ET) on October 18. We’re eager to see what the newest GT generation has to offer—big racing wing and all.
