Commission seeks environmental study for data center proposal
A proposal to build a data center in Cottonwood County was put on a 60-day hold, yesterday, so an environmental study can be completed. The decision came at the close of a County Planning Commission hearing before a large crowd at the BARC Auditorium. Most spoke against the project which would bring $420,000 in annual electric fees to Windom, but carries questions about noise and environmental impacts.
County board to meet Tuesday
The Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, beginning at 9 a.m., at the county courthouse in Windom. On the agenda, the board will hear about and potentially act on a conditional use permit for Revolve Labs, which is hoping to construct a crypto currency mining operation just east of Windom.
