Avondale honored for its annual financial reporting

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) recognized the city of Avondale for its exemplary financial reporting.

The city was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022.

The GFOA's Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, a press release explains. It is awarded to governments that demonstrate a "spirit of full disclosure" by clearly communicating their financial story and motivating potential users and user groups to read the report.

The impartial panel of judges was impressed by Avondale's commitment to transparency and accountability in its financial reporting. The city’s annual comprehensive financial report met all high standards set by the GFOA, showcasing its dedication to excellence in government finance.
