Sedalia Police Reports for June 12, 2024
This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. Tuesday evening, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was not displaying any registration. The car was stopped on South Grand Avenue near West 7th Street. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the driver had a suspended driving privilege. Edwyn Rehmer, 20, of Cole Camp, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Rehmer was transported to the SPD to be issued a uniform traffic ticket, and then was released.
Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for June 12, 2024
This article is compiled from reports issued by the Pettis County Sheriff's Office. Pettis County Deputies and the Pettis County Fire Department were dispatched to the Temp Stop, 4575 South Limit Avenue on the night of June 8th for a report of a vehicle fire. When Deputies arrived, along with Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers, they observed a vehicle on fire. The vehicle is 1999 blue colored single cab Dodge Ram. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames on the west side of the parking lot along the front side of the building. The vehicle was safely towed.
Sedalia Man Faces Charges of Assault, Endangering & Child Abuse
On Sunday at 3:43 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to 900 Winchester Drive for a disturbance in progress. According to the probable cause statement, Officers spoke to several subjects on scene. It was determined the suspect, Orekly Rufino, was attempting to strike his wife, but was stopped by his son (who is listed as under the age of 17). Rufino then reportedly struck his son in the face instead. When asked what happened, Rufino stated nothing happened, while yelling things to his children in another language. The victim had red marks near both of his collar bones, and photos were uploaded to the case file. A hotline report was also completed. Rufino was determined to be the primary physical aggressor and placed under arrest.

This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. Very early in the morning on June 3rd, Officers tried to make contact with a subject to return some personal property. The report notes the subject had no active warrants for their arrest or charges in their name. The subject decided to flee from Officers in the area of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue.
