Sedalia Parks & Recreation announced this morning that they are moving their 4th of July celebration to Friday, July 5, in anticipation of unfavorable weather tomorrow. The National Weather Service's forecast for tomorrow calls for storms around daybreak, then showers and storms all morning, and a 40% chance of storms tomorrow night. This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. In the early morning hours of June 28th, Officers observed a car travelling eastbound on East Third Street, as it approached Washington Avenue. The car failed to stop until about a car length past the stop line. It continued eastbound, weaving, and driving in the middle of the road. Officers initiated a traffic stop at East 3rd Street and South Engineer Avenue. The driver was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Whitney Lynn Raymond, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Raymond was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.

Stover Motorcyclist Injured in Benton County
A Stover man was injured in a motorcycle accident that occurred Tuesday evening in Benton County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2003 Honda VTX, driven by 45-year-old Richard W. Lee of Stover, was on Route WW, west of Brushy Chapel Avenue around 7:20 p.m., when Lee said he struck an animal in the roadway and the bike overturned, ejecting the rider.
