Sedalia Police Reports for July 12, 2024
This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. Friday morning, a vehicle was stopped near West 4th Street and South Warren Avenue for failing to signal a turn, and displaying expired plates. The driver was intoxicated. Scott A. West, 50, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender). West was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked, pending release to a sober person.
Two Injured in Thursday Morning Crash on West Broadway
On Thursday morning at 7:07 a.m., Sedalia Police, Sedalia Fire & PCAD responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries at Broadway and Vermont. Investigation revealed that a westbound Peterbilt flatbed hauling large, decorative stones, driven by Trace Alberswerth of Higginsville, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a street sign, fiber hardware and a fire hydrant before returning to the roadway.
Clinton Man Arrested For Possession Of Child Pornography
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control arrested Aaron M. Mays, 40, of Clinton, Mo. Mays was arrested on July 10, 2024, for possession of child pornography, following an investigation by the Special Victims Unit of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control. The Clinton (Missouri) Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations, Kansas City, assisted in the investigation.
Traffic Changes In Knob Noster Due To Airshow This Weekend
The City of Knob Noster posted a notification on their Facebook page providing some information on traffic changes due to the WIngs of Whiteman Airshow this weekend. Sedalia Police Reports for July 11, 2024
This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. Early Thursday morning, Officers observed a vehicle travelling eastbound on East Broadway Boulevard from South Limit Avenue. The vehicle was weaving and crossed over the solid white line, as well as outside of its lane several times. The driver was intoxicated by drugs and in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Deana Juanita Niko Copas, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The car was towed, and Copas transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in and placed on a 24-hour hold.

Three people died in a two-vehicle accident that occurred overnight on I-29 in Platte County at the 29.4 mile marker. Clinton Man Injured in Henry County Crash
A Clinton man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday morning in Henry County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2007 Toyota Prius, driven by 58-year-old Timothy D. Dunham of Clinton, was on Missouri 7 at SE 751 Road around 7:15 a.m., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a highway sign. It then crossed SE 751 Road and struck a stop sign.

City Notes Stormwater Work on East Broadway Starting July 15
The eastbound lane of E. Broadway Blvd. from South Engineer Ave. to South Center Ave. will be restricted to one lane of traffic from Monday, July 15 to Friday, July 26. However, the intersection S. Wagner Ave. will remain open for through traffic. Heavy equipment and personnel will be in the area working on a stormwater improvement project. It was determined the safest alternative was to close the eastbound lane during this period to allow for the work to be completed safely and timely.

Tuesday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by an individual with a revoked driving status on South Moniteau Avenue near West Broadway Boulevard. Pedro Marcos, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Marcos was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.
Read-end Collision Injures Centerview Man
A Centerview man was injured in a two-vehicle collision that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Jackson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2018 Dodge Ram Promaster, driven by 66-year-old David K. Rapp of Warrensburg, was on US 50, east of Sam Moore Road around 4:40 p.m., when Rapp slowed down for traffic and an eastbound 2018 Ford F-150, driven by 25-year-old Christopher Barnes Haggard of Centerview, failed to slow down and drove into the rear of the Dodge Ram.
