Cole Camp Man Injured After Crashing in Sedalia
A Cole Camp man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred early Sunday morning in Sedalia. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2012 Acura TSX, driven by 20-year-old Hawk F. Hagston of Cole Camp, failed to stop for Sedalia Police and failed to maintain his lane. And at 17th and Osage, the Acura went airborne, skidded and struck a tree.
Clinton Man Killed in Henry County Rollover
A Clinton man was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday morning in Henry County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2005 Pontiac Gran Prix, driven by 67-year-old Steven F. Albin of Clinton, was on Route U, one-half mile north of SE 580 Road around 11:20 a.m., when the driver lost control and the Pontiac ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and a culvert, then overturned, coming to rest on its top.

Sedalia Police Reports for June 28, 2024
This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. Thursday night, an impaired driver was reported travelling eastbound on West Broadway Boulevard in the area near South Grand Avenue. Officers in the area additionally observed the vehicle had no front license plate. It was stopped in the area of South Kentucky Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard. The driver was impaired by a combination of alcohol and drugs. Karl William Derstein, 50, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). The passenger, Jennie Lee Schwermer, 41, of Sedalia, had a no bond warrant out of Pike County in the state of Illinois on felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) from 2022. Schwermer was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on the warrant, as well as a charge of Fugitive From Justice. Schwermer was placed on a 24-hour hold, and Derstein was booked and released.
Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for June 28, 2024
This article is compiled from reports issued by the Pettis County Sheriff's Office. Pettis County Deputies were dispatched to the Four Seasons Living Center, 2800 Highway TT in Pettis County on Wednesday night. When Deputies arrived, they made contact with the reporting party and staff for the facility. One of the staff identified a resident as the victim, and stated he had been assaulted by three other residents of the facility. She also stated she had video of the assault. Deputies watched the video while they were at the facility. In the video, the victim was in a smaller common area of the facility. As he was standing near a table, he pushed a plant from a pot off the table and onto the ground. This is when Adam Fisher, 30, of the facility, entered the video. Fisher, who was wearing a red #23 jersey, walked up to the victim and kicked him in the groin. The victim fell to the ground, and against a wall. Fischer then walked up to the victim while he was laying on the floor and kicked him in the right side. Fisher then stepped on the right side of his face/head. Fischer then walked away and out of camera range. Then, a male identified as Aurellio Rodriguez, age unspecified in the report*, walked towards the victim. Rodriquez then kicked the victim in the head as he was still laying on the floor. Rodriquez then walked away. A third male, Franklin Evans III, age unspecified in the report*, walked toward the victim and kicked him in the buttocks. Evans then walked away and out of camera view. The victim was then transported by medics to the BRHC for his injuries (before the arrival of Deputies). Deputies made contact with Fisher, Evans, and Rodriguez, and all three were arrested for Domestic Assault. All three men were transported to the Pettis County Jail, and were placed on a 24-hour hold.
MoDOT Rehabbing Muddy Creek Bridge
MoDOT is in the process of rehabilitating the US 65 northbound bridge over Muddy Creek in Pettis County. The bridge is located 0.2 miles north of John Road and 0.3 miles north of Smelser Road. MoDOT will be performing work on the superstructure and guardrail as well as constructing a new bridge deck.

Leeton Motorcyclist Injured in JoCo Crash
A Leeton man was injured in a motorcycle crash that occurred Thursday morning in Johnson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 50-year-old Ronald W. Watson of Leeton, was on Missouri 23 at Route WW (south of WAFB) around 6:15 a.m., when Watson says he entered a curve and activated the clutch instead of the brake, causing the 2002 Honda Shadow VT1100C to overturn and skid, traveling off the right side of the roadway and overturn again, ejecting the rider.

Sedalia Police Reports for June 27, 2024
This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. Monday night, Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the Wal Mart employee and gathered information for a report. Madison Elaina Wolfe, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Shoplifting.
