Nick Wright roasted for Dak Prescott predictions

Nick Wright was stuck with awkward receipts on Monday following Dak Prescott’s historic contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys and the veteran quarterback agreed on a record four-year, $240 million extension Sunday morning. That contradicts what Wright has been confidently predicting on FS1’s First Things First , that Prescott would play this season without a new agreement.

Wright’s fellow FTF analysts, Kevin Wildes and Chris Broussard, goaded Wright for his bad take on the situation. And they brought the video evidence from previous shows to make their point, playing a montage of Wright’s predictions on the situation.

“I have not moved on this at all, ever. I do believe this will be Dak’s last year in Dallas,” Wright said on a recent show.

On last Thursday’s show, Wright stuck to his prediction there would be no deal, and certainly not before the season.

“You guys have a few hours before you’re wrong and a few days before you’re dead wrong,” Wright said.

Wright credited Wildes and Broussard with predicting the deal would happen before the season but claimed he had predicted that any potential deal would set a record.

“That’s why this is such a great moment for the show, because you nailed that it would happen,” Wright said. “So congrats to you guys, for nailing the order of operation, and congrats to me for getting, you know, the details they had to hammer out for five months.”

To be fair, Wright isn’t the only one who didn’t think the Cowboys and Prescott would reach an agreement. Cowboys super-fan Skip Bayless ranted at length on X Sunday about the new deal, saying “Jerry Jones just made a QB who has stunk in 3 straight playoff losses … the highest paid player in NFL history.”
