NFL insider announces major career move

Last month, it was reported that NFL insider Albert Breer was in talks with Amazon to help with their Thursday Night Football coverage . Breer announced that the deal with Amazon is now official, just hours ahead of the Week 2 TNF matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins.

Breer shared the news during an appearance on the Zolak and Bertrand Show on 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston, detailing that he will be a part of the network’s studio coverage before and after each Thursday Night Football game this season.

“Yeah, so it’s official now, so I can actually talk about it,” said Breer. “I signed my contract this morning. So yeah, it’s on top of everything else. So I’m not going anywhere with my NBC stuff, with my SI stuff, with you guys. It’s just something on top of everything else, which is great.”

As Breer alluded to, he will maintain a number of responsibilities in addition to this new role. These include serving as the senior NFL reporter and lead content strategist for Sports Illustrated’s The Monday Morning Quarterback and frequently appearing on NBC Sports Boston and 98.5 The Sports Hub.

It’s perhaps not all that surprising to see Breer join Amazon’s studio coverage of TNF. For years, we’ve seen Adam Schefter as a recurring guest on Monday Night Countdown , ESPN’s studio show for their weekly standalone broadcast of Monday Night Football .

Chances are, we’ll see Breer used in a similar role at Amazon, which should only enhance a TNF product that grew 24 percent in year-over-year viewership last season .
