Jesse Palmer roasts Florida fan ‘in the friend zone’

Florida’s football team had a rough game on Saturday. But as bad as the game was for the Gators, things didn’t go great for one of their fans — especially if Jesse Palmer — college football analyst and host of The Bachelor — is to be believed.

The 33-20 final score might make Texas A&M’s victory over Florida on Saturday look closer than it actually was. The Aggies led 33-7 late into the third quarter. And while the Gators did score the game’s final two touchdowns, a large portion of fans at The Swamp had already left the game. That made it more likely that the fans who stuck around would be seen on television. One such fan caught the eye of Palmer.

Cameras caught a group of fans — presumably college students. One of the fans was a young man while the others were all young women. It might sound like the young man was in a good — even enviable — spot. But Palmer, offering his analysis, saw it differently.

“He’s got a mustache, you can’t see it now but he’s whipping his hand with his shirt,” Palmer said. As the fan turned around to once again face the camera, Palmer continued. “I’m gonna make a bold prediction. I’m gonna say that guy’s in the friend zone.”

His partner, play-by-play man Joe Tessitore, began to cackle before finally praising Palmer.

“Listen, you are a top analyst. I’m just gonna say it. You know how to give analysis.”

“I see it up close and personal in my other job,” Palmer said. “And I think — I’m gonna say he’s a good listener.”

“ Bachelor Nation is in desperate need of this kind of analysis Katie,” Tessitore said to sideline reporter Katie George.

“Don’t kick a man while he’s down, Jesse. Leave him alone,” George said.

“No, I think he’s a great guy. I didn’t say he’s a bad guy,” Palmer said. “I’m just saying, I don’t think he’s dating anybody in the shot right now.”

“There’s nobody more equipped to give that analysis than Jesse Palmer,” Tessitore said. “Nobody can analyze this situation better. I mean, the host of The Bachelor .”
