FX’s American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez will make its television debut on Tuesday night.

Don’t, however, hold your breath for cameos from the likes of Mina Kimes and Pablo Torre, despite Domonique Foxworth’s best efforts.

As if being a former NFL cornerback turned NBA players union executive turned sports media star wasn’t enough, Foxworth has added another line to his resume in the form of a writing credit on the upcoming FX miniseries . But while the former Maryland star’s experience in the NFL was an obvious asset in the show’s writers room, as it turns out, he only had so much pull with its producers.

“I did try actually, I lobbied to get some cameos for Mina and Pablo, but that got vetoed,” Foxworth told The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz on Monday. “I was like, ‘Pablo could be a college professor or something like that, right?'”

Producer Billy Gil proceeded to suggest that Foxworth should have pitched himself as an NFL analyst. The former third-round pick, however, had another idea for his potential on-screen involvement in the show.

“I never played against Aaron Hernandez… everything in the show is not completely true. It’s supposed to get the spirit of the events,” Foxworth said. “Let’s fabricate a little interception. Fabricate a little Week 2 turnover thrown to Domonique Foxworth and returned for a touchdown. Maybe a two-pick game.”

That answer was followed by Jon “Stugotz” Weiner asking, “Did he do it?” to which Foxworth replied, “No.” Unfortunately, Stugotz was asking about the murders Hernandez was accused of, while Foxworth was under the impression they were still talking about his unsuccessful pitches to become part of the show’s storylines.

“I already sent that to Awful Announcing,” Mike Ryan Ruiz joked.

    And here we are.
