The New York Jets lost in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos in a manner all too familiar for longtime Jets fan Jon “Stugotz” Weiner.

The Broncos’ offense showed very few signs of life against the stifling Jets defense as rookie quarterback Bo Nix actually went into the second half with -7 passing yards. But similarly, the Aaron Rodgers-led Jets offense wasn’t able to do much of anything going either. A missed field goal late in the fourth quarter from Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein sealed the Jets’ fate and they lost 10-9 without scoring any offensive touchdowns.

It’s a tough loss for Jets fans to swallow. The lack of offensive output has become a far too regular occurrence for longtime Jets fans like Stugotz, who blamed Rodgers for the loss on the God Bless Football podcast on Monday.

“That’s on Aaron Rodgers,” said Stugotz. “I mean I’m sorry, that game is on Aaron Rodgers. “You bring Aaron Rodgers in to be your quarterback, you don’t score nine points at home against a bad Denver team. It’s on Aaron Rodgers. I mean, I’m sorry Mikey.  That game is a game we’ve watched for 40 years. And we thought when this guy became our quarterback, there would be something different to watch. And there’s not. I’m still watching the same old crap. Nine points against the Denver Broncos in a revenge game for Nathaniel Hackett.”

It’s hard to argue anything that was said here. At least for the time being, it seems pretty clear that the hopes of this Jets offense rest with Rodgers’ ability to make things happen.

That doesn’t mean that the Jets can’t have success at the end of the day. But Sunday’s loss helped show something seems to be missing on offense in New York, which was further accentuated by potential dissension between the quarterback and head coach Robert Saleh regarding Rodgers’ offensive cadence .
