The New York Mets watch party hosted by Barstool Sports isn’t for everybody. And it probably isn’t for WFAN’s Gregg Giannotti.

As WFAN’s morning show Boomer and Gio celebrated the Mets advancing to the NLDS on the heels of Pete Alonso’s game-winning three-run homer Thursday night, they referenced the number of fans who filmed their own reactions to the moment. And when update anchor Jerry Recco mentioned Barstool’s Frank the Tank, Giannotti clarified that his reaction video came from being on a live stream.

“If you look at the Mets fans at Barstool that were watching that game together…I mean, it is…it looks like the bar at Star Wars,” Giannotti said, garnering a fit of laughter from Recco and Boomer Esiason. “It’s an interesting group.”

“Which is the one with the three boobs?” Recco asked.

Without hesitation, Giannotti answered, “Clem, it’s a guy named Clem actually. He’s the big one.” Clem (Justin Clemenza) later reposted the clip and categorized Giannotti’s slight as a “shot directly at my voluptuous body.”

Clem, Rico Bosco, Chris Klemmer, Meek Phil, and Frank the Tank watched the Mets on a live stream Thursday night. Impressively, more than 60,000 views tuned in to watch this eclectic group of Barstool personalities watch the game. For those who don’t get Giannotti’s reference about the group, the main bar in Star Wars is the Mos Eisley cantina.

Comparing a group of Mets fans to aliens at that cantina might seem harsh. But you be the one to tell Giannotti he’s wrong after taking a look around this Mets watch party and the Star Wars cantina. Barstool’s KFC (Kevin Clancy) couldn’t, quickly admitting Giannotti “nailed it” with his cantina reference.

Don’t expect this quip to turn into some sort of Barstool Sports vs local radio host crusade akin to the backlash 670 The Score’s Dan Bernstein received last month . Bernstein seemed to have vendetta against Barstool when he was less than welcoming to Barstool Eddie being on 670’s airwaves. Giannotti and Esiason, however, have always had a more copacetic relationship with Barstool and its cast of personalities.
