Lee Corso was again absent from College GameDay this week.

That was the expectation coming into Saturday, as Rece Davis said Corso would not be making the trip to his beloved Eugene, Oregon. And Saturday marked the second consecutive week that an under-the-weather Corso hasn’t made his way out to the West Coast. Last week, the 89-year-old Corso missed out on Cal Berkeley; this week, he missed his favorite mascot — the Oregon Duck.

While Corso’s absence was already known, Davis addressed it during the show’s opening Saturday.

“Lee Corso, hoping he gets back with us very soon,” said Davis. “I talked to LC this week; he wants to send his regards to his very good friend, ‘The Duck.’ And the other thing, Pat (McAfee), is he’s got to be sorry and loving and seeing what this crowd’s about.”

“Coach Corso, obviously, we can’t wait for him to get back, but today’s a day that he would love,” said McAfee.

Naturally, that led to the former Indianapolis Colts punter breaking out into song and dance.

While Corso was sorely missed, especially in Oregon of all places, the focus is on his health.

Corso has missed several College GameDay shows over the years. He missed one at Utah last October due to a “ family matter “ and at least three games in 2022 (at Texas , Kansas , and Clemson ) due to health issues.

It remains to be seen if Corso will return for Georgia-Texas in Austin next week.
