Not everyone loved Kiké Hernández dropping a blatant f-bomb during a recent postgame interview, especially Michael Kay.

After his Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres in five games to win the National League Division Series, Hernández spoke with Fox’s Ken Rosenthal, who asked him what’s different about this particular Dodgers team than previous ones.

After looking around, Hernández asked Rosenthal if they were live before dropping the word Kay called “disgraceful.”

“The fact that we don’t give a f***,” he told Rosenthal.

That didn’t sit right with the New York Yankees play-by-play voice, who has a long history of voicing his displeasures with f-bombs being dropped on live television.

Kay wasted no time taking Hernández to task on his Monday show.

“He wanted to know if they were live on TV, and then he dropped the f-bomb,” says Kay. “Major League Baseball has to issue him a huge, huge fine. Why would you do that? Why would you do that? I could see if you get caught up in the moment; that was something that he actually thought about. He wanted to know if they were live first, and then he dropped an f-bomb on TV. These guys don’t get it; there’s kids watching the game.”

Kay didn’t want it to be left unsaid.

“I think sometimes, Don and Peter, we’re giving up,” Kay told his co-hosts Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg. “You know, we just throw up our hands and go, ‘Well, that’s the way it is.’ Well, that’s not the way it should be. These guys are adults, alright? And it wasn’t a heat of the moment thing. He asked if they were on live. (Rosenthal) said, ‘Yes, we are,’ and then he dropped an f-bomb. It’s disgraceful.”

If you’ve listened to TMKS before, it’s not surprising that Kay didn’t like Hernández’s use of the word in front of Dodgers fans and on live TV last week. LeBron James previously drew Kay’s ire for a similar act , as did his new head coach , JJ Redick. And then there was that time that former New York Mets manager Buck Showalter went on TMKS and complained about Pete Alonso’s use of the f-bomb in a public setting.

    Sensing a theme here?

“Again, I didn’t think like this until I had kids — and I’m watching the game with my kid — but there’s kids listening,” Kay said. “And I don’t want to be a puritan. I understand that’s a word that’s used. Does it have to be used on live TV? I would hope that Major League Baseball really hit him with a fine. What a disgraceful thing to say.”
