Aaron Rodgers gets brutally honest about media

When you’ve changed the coach and you’ve changed the players, but the losses are still mounting for the New York Jets, it’s time for Aaron Rodgers to start blaming the media.

One month ago, the Jets were 2-1 and Rodgers was preaching the importance of a team learning how to handle success. But after suffering a 37-15 defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football , the Jets are now 2-5 and in the middle of a four-game losing streak that has wrecked their Super Bowl dreams in October.

Following their worst loss of the season Sunday night, from both a score and soul-crushing perspective, a reporter asked Rodgers how he can get everyone in the locker room to keep believing in their team and season. And before the reporter finished the question, Rodgers was quick to interject.

“Stop listening to you guys, number one,” Rodgers said in an attempt to blame at least part of the Jets 2-5 start on the media.

Two weeks ago, the Jets suffered a crushing loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London that prompted a head coaching change. Jets owner Woody Johnson admitted he spoke to Rodgers the night before firing Saleh, but both insist the quarterback played no role in the decision . But even without Robert Saleh at the helm, the Jets lost again the following week to the Buffalo Bills, prompting the team to trade for Davante Adams after Rodgers publicly called out wide receiver Mike Williams.

They blamed the coach, they blamed the personnel and now Rodgers is attempting to blame the media. The same Aaron Rodgers who collects a large paycheck from the media by joining The Pat McAfee Show every Tuesday. Clearly, it’s not the media’s fault that Rodgers is leading the league in interceptions and the defense has regressed. But as the polarizing quarterback struggles to accept that he looks like an old Aaron Rodgers, not the old Aaron Rodgers, pointing his finger at the media seems like an act of desperation.
