Chappell Roan cancels scalped tickets to Tennessee concert

Ascendant pop diva Chappell Roan is taking on scalpers who mass-purchased tickets to her upcoming show at FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin, Tennessee.

Why it matters: Concert ticket sales have become a kind of pop culture warfare, with fans scrambling to snag a seat before scalpers and bots take them all. Ticketmaster blamed bots for the disastrous sale process for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.

What she's saying: "Scalpers and bots … bought up all the tickets, so we went through and canceled all the scalper tickets we could," Roan said in a social media post .

• "We're going to release a limited number of tickets to you," she said. "Because I want to make sure that tickets go to people who actually want to come and are fans."

What's happening: Fans can go online to request access to the new batch of tickets for the Oct. 1 show.
