I worked for a military branch as a federal employee and recently retired last year. Before I retired we were told by senior leadership that the United States is currently planning to be in a shooting war with China in 2025. Current efforts are preparing logistically to support fighting when it starts. This is pretty much common sense if anyone has been following our geopolitical news. The big concern (Senior military and intelligence as well as certain members of Congress) are aware that China has been selling COTS electronics through brokers and vendors that are counterfeit to military buyers. Reliability of these devices are suspect. This means they can fail a lot sooner than expected. These parts have been found in missile guidance systems, radar's and jammers as well as aircraft ejection seats, routers, Chinese laptops (spyware) etc. The government has done nothing to protect supply chain because they are ubiquitous and number in the millions.
