People living along the Moreland Avenue corridor in southeast Atlanta now have a food hall.

The latest: Halidom Eatery , an 11-stall development housed on the ground floor of IST Management Services' new headquarters at 1341 Moreland Avenue, opened Friday to customers.

    • It's located about a mile north of Starlight Drive-In Theatre.
    • Restaurants offered samples for guests to savor at a grand opening celebration Thursday.

The vibe: The food hall includes a bar and a common seating area featuring "South Beach decor," said Brad Burgess, IST's vice president of marketing and real estate.

    • "We knew we had to do something different," he said. "This is Atlanta and there's a lot of food halls, so we wanted to create one unlike any other one."
    • Outside, the property has ample green space and areas where people can sit and relax.

The food: The 11 stalls are occupied with a variety of restaurants , from pizza to sushi to a coffee shop.

What to try: The bites offered by Buena Papa Fry Bar , Just Dogs ATL , Deallo's Seafood and Mango Indian Grill were quite tasty.

Zoom out: The food hall's location is located along a stretch of Moreland Avenue that's straddled with older stores and shopping centers. One of Atlanta's two Piggly Wiggly stores is in the shopping center to the north of Halidom.

What to expect: Parking is free and the food hall has a concierge service that will help people with any questions they may have. In the next few weeks, they will begin offering delivery services.

    • Food ordered for delivery will be stored in a climate-controlled locker until it's picked up, Burgess said.

The bottom line: Burgess told Axios the food hall provides a sense of place for people living in nearby Woodland Hills and Custer communities.

    • "They're looking for something and we think we've built something that's going to be a community hangout," he said. "We really want to be part of the community."

Stop by: Halidom Eatery is open 11am-9pm Monday through Thursday, 11am-10pm Friday and Saturday, and 11am-8pm Sunday.
