Police arrested two teenagers after a Tuesday morning shooting spree across Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police announced Thursday .

Why it matters: One person died and three others were injured over the course of 30 minutes in shootings at four separate locations Tuesday. The incidents sparked false rumors online that there was a sniper in Charlotte.

Driving the news: CMPD announced during a press conference that they arrested 18-year-old Carlos Roberto-Diaz and an unnamed 16-year-old, Axios' news partners at WBTV report.

    • Roberto-Diaz will appear in court on Friday morning. He's charged with murder, five counts of attempted murder and several other felonies.
    • The 16-year-old whose name was not released due to his age, was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice and charged with first-degree murder. CMPD anticipates more charges for that suspect.

Catch up quick: The shootings happened between 1am and 1:30am along Statesville Avenue, LaSalle Street, Catherine Simmons Avenue, and one more in southwest Charlotte.

    • 58-year-old Mustaffa Muhammad was killed at an intersection in north Charlotte. A person on a bicycle was also hit but was not killed.

What they're saying: "Based on the evidence and the actions that the officers observed, there was no doubt that he [the 16-year-old] was going to continue his crime spree," said Detective Tonya Arrington.

    • Police arrested the 16-year-old after identifying a "suspicious vehicle" and conducting a traffic stop. After interviewing him, they established him as one of the suspects. Officers said they apprehended Roberto-Diaz early Thursday afternoon after identifying him as a second suspect.
    • Authorities said they also found a stolen gun in the 16-year-old suspect's vehicle.
