VP Kamala Harris will hold rally in Charlotte on Sept. 12

Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to hold back-to-back events in North Carolina this week. She'll be in Charlotte on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Why it matters: North Carolina is a battleground state and the election is less than two months away.

State of play: Harris will also head to Greensboro on Thursday. Details for either event, including location and time, have not been released.

Catch up quick: This will be Harris' second North Carolina stop since becoming the Democratic nominee for president, our news partners at WBTV report .

She visited Raleigh in August to unveil details of her proposed economic policy agenda.

Between the lines: Former president Donald Trump held a rally in Charlotte shortly after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

What's next: Harris and Trump will meet in a presidential debate at 9pm on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

ABC is hosting the event but it's letting other broadcast and cable networks air it simultaneously.
