You can now stay in the iconic glass mansion on Lake Norman

Lake Norman's multi-million-dollar glass mansion is now a vacation rental.

Why it matters: It's the first time the custom-built home, located on the tip of a Lake Norman peninsula in Terrell, N.C., has been available to rent.

Context: The property is managed by vacation rental company Stay Lake Norman , which opened bookings this month.

Catch up quick : The home was built in 2016 by Ted and Beverly Corriher, the Observer reports , who sold it in May 2024 for $4.2 million .

Layout: Spanning 6,283 square feet, the three-story waterfront mansion has panoramic views — due to nearly all of its walls being panes of glass.

    • It has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and sleeps 14 guests.

What to expect: The contemporary-style home comes with luxury features like two fully-stocked kitchens, a game room, a mezzanine bar and a private dock and boathouse.

    • Guests can arrange boat and water sport rentals and hire private chefs, meal delivery service and massage therapists.
    • It's pet-friendly (with a two-dog allowance).

Yes, but: If you're wondering if onlookers can see inside — no such luck. The windows are tinted blue from the outside.

If you go: Prices to book average around $3,500 per night and can range from $1,200-$6,000, according to Stay Lake Norman COO Caleb Hannon.

    • The home has availability beginning mid-September. Check all available dates here .

My thought bubble: I toured the mansion, and its design immediately reminded me of the house from the 2022 film "Glass Onion" — except you only have to drive about 45 minutes from Charlotte instead of booking a flight to Greece.
