Here's what's happening in Chicago this weekend

This weekend, jam to local and international acts in Union Park, celebrate 20 years of Millennium Park with rapper Common or get tickets to Sad Summer Fest.

1. 🥁 Pitchfork Music Festival

Black Pumas, Jamie XX, Carly Rae Jepsen, Brittany Howard and Muna headline this year's Pitchfork Festival .

Why it matters: Hosted in Chicago for nearly 20 years, this music event has elevated the Windy City as a music hub. Plus, it's great exposure for local acts — they open each day.

Zoom in: Black Duck, Angry Blackmen, Lifeguard and Akenya are among the Chicago acts performing.

What to expect: Outside of the music , there's the Renegade Craft Fair , a vinyl record fair, a kids zone and a nonpartisan voting booth.

2. 🎉 Millennium Park 20th Anniversary Celebration

• Celebrate the park's anniversary Thursday through Sunday. Actor and rapper Common will return home to perform Saturday with the Grant Park Orchestra. Free

3. 🪩 21 + Night at WNDR Chicago

• Sip and walk through this immersive exhibit from 6-10 pm Thursday. If you miss it, the next event is Aug. 15. Tickets start at $25

4. 🍾 Chicago Margarita & Mimosa Fest

• Celebrate Saturday with summer cocktails at Wicker Park's Whiskey Business . Tickets start at $26.99

5. 🎤 Sad Summer Festival 2024

• The fifth anniversary will take place at The Salt Shed . Artists include Mayday Parade, The Wonder Years, Daisy Grenade and more. Tickets start at $59

6. 🎫 Southside Summer Festival

• Support Marist High School for its third annual outdoor fest. Good news for deep-dish lovers: Chicago's Lou Malnati's will be catering. Tickets start at $35
