    Enjoy three days of Greek cuisine, music, dancing, shopping and family-friendly activities at Taste of Greektown .

    Why it matters: It's Chicago's largest celebration of Hellenic culture and it supports local businesses.

    Dig in: Grab bites from Mr. Greek Gyros , Athena Restaurant , 9 Muses Bar & Grill , Spectrum Bar & Grill and Ilios .

    What to expect: Mediterranean food, new and traditional Greek music, live performances and a gyro-eating contest.

    When: 4โ€“10pm Friday, 11amโ€“10pm Saturday and Sunday.

    • Get in touch with your inner bookworm at this outdoor literary festival. Shop hundreds of booksellers 10am-6pm Saturday-Sunday at South Dearborn, from Ida B. Wells Drive to Polk Street. Free.

    5. ๐Ÿบ Oktoberfest

    • Experience German food and drinks, outdoor games and performances at the Chicago German-American Oktoberfest 5pm-10pm Friday and noon-10pm Saturday-Sunday in Lincoln Square. Free.

    6. ๐ŸŒฎ Lakeview Taco Fest

    • Prep your taste buds for this outdoor taco festival featuring a variety of local restaurants, such as Antique Taco and Beat Kitchen 11am-10pm Saturday and Sunday. A $10 donation is suggested.

    7. ๐ŸŽถ Throwback Music Fest

    • Enjoy three days of live music from acts including Notre Dame College Prep and Saint Patrick High School Friday-Sunday at Gladstone Park. Times vary.
