    This weekend, cheer on runners during the marathon, watch Harry Potter live and explore STEM careers and opportunities.


    1. πŸƒ Bank of America Chicago Marathon

    The marathon welcomes athletes, everyday runners and fans!

    What to expect: Thousands of runners will complete a 26.2-mile course this weekend followed by a post-race party. Missed the deadline? Cheer on participants along the course or from the comfort of your home .

    • Expect more traffic than usual and many street closures.

    Fun fact: Many participants, including Miss USA, Alma Cooper , will run for a cause. See this year's charity partners .

    Alumni runners Randy Burt, 76, George Mueller, 76, and Henry Kozlowski, 74, are the only runners who have successfully completed all 45 previous Chicago marathons, according to organizers.

    What they're saying: "In the early years, we tried to improve our finish times, now the finish time is not as important as making sure we successfully cross the finish line," Burt tells Axios.

    When: The race will begin at 7:30am Sunday and activities will end at 4pm.

    Where: Grant Park

    What's next: Entry for the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon opens 10am Oct. 22.

    • Attend this lowrider festival to view hundreds of custom cars, modified motorcycles and bikes 10am-8pm Saturday at Navy Pier. Tickets start at $15
