DJ and producer John Summit grew up in Naperville and graduated from Neuqua Valley High and U of I. Now, he travels the world playing music.

    • He's back in Chicago this weekend to headline Northerly Island while on tour for his debut album "Comfort in Chaos." It's his first show back in Chicago since he played ARC Music Festival in 2023.

Why it matters: The former accountant has an outsized social media following where he documents his sets from behind the booth and his many sleepless nights as a full-time traveling DJ.

Dig in: Earlier this week he stopped into a local Portillo's to play music and get "an Italian beef with hot peppers, extra dipped. I had a couple last night and I'm still feeling it," he tells Axios.

Hang out: He says he loves returning to his hometown because "I miss the music scene and I'm still friends with so many DJs here."

    • "My favorite club is Spy Bar but also Radius where I am playing Saturday as well. I love that Chicago's still got such a great house music DJ scene."

If you go: Tickets are still on sale for Friday and Saturday shows or you can listen to his biggest hit "Where You Are."
