Legislation averting a federal government shutdown includes billions of dollars for Ohio lawmakers' pet projects.

Why it matters: The Buckeye State is set to get more than $300 million in funding for construction projects and community programs as part of the deal, per an Axios review of congressional records .

Here's a quick look at some of what that new federal spending will pay for in the Columbus area:

🚧 Wider streets: A $5 million earmark proposed by Rep. Mike Carey and Sen. Sherrod Brown will help pay for a third lane going each direction on Alum Creek Drive near Rickenbacker airport as well as sidewalks and a shared-use path.

    • A second project proposed by Rep. Joyce Beatty sets aside just under $1.5 million to widen a stretch of East Broad Street past the Interstate 270 interchange.
    • Beatty also landed $850K in funding for improvements to U.S. 62 leading to Intel's new Ohio One semiconductor plant .

🥕 Community aid: A $2 million earmark requested by Rep. Carey and Sen. Brown will help the Mid-Ohio Food Collective open a new Anti-Hunger Center in the South Hamilton/Eastland area.

    • The federal spending bills also include $1.5 million for a new pavilion and expanded outdoor park at the Eldon and Elsie Ward YMCA, $1 million for Habitat for Humanity's MidOhio operations and $700,000 to expand the Sanctuary Night women's shelter.
