    What's on the Nov. 5 ballot in Franklin County

    Franklin County voters will decide lots of local issues in November that could raise your property tax bill.

    Context: It's a presidential election year, so a crowded ballot is common as governments and school districts try to capitalize on higher voter turnout.


    Pro tip: After Oct. 1, you can use this calculator to see how proposals on your ballot would affect your taxes if approved.

    What we're watching:

    👶 An increase to a countywide levy supporting Franklin County Children's Services.

    🏊 A new outdoor pool in Worthington, to be funded by a bond .

    🚧 Bonds for construction in the Grandview Heights, Groveport Madison, Hilliard, New Albany and Westerville school districts .

    • Hilliard and Westerville's proposals are paired with a new operating levy.

    🎒 Operating levies for Bexley and Reynoldsburg schools.

    📚 Operating levies for the Southwest and Westerville libraries.

    🚒 Several townships will put levies before residents who use their police and fire services.

    Plus:

    💰 An income tax increase in the Village of Lockbourne, from 1% to 2.5%.

    🚌 LinkUS , an $8 billion mobility plan that would enhance Central Ohio Transit Authority bus services and infrastructure and construct 150 miles of sidewalks , bikeways and trails throughout Franklin County.

    • Most of COTA's funding comes from a 0.5% county sales tax. The ballot item would double it to 1% if approved, bringing in an estimated $6 billion through 2050.
