There are tons of fairs to check out around D.C. right now

It's a bad time to be fried food on a stick, because there are a ton of county and state fairs lined up for the D.C. region.

Why it matters: Um, like we said — fried food on a stick.

State of play: There are several fairs you can check out this weekend, plus more coming into the fall.

🎡 Montgomery County Fair

Saturday's your last day to head to the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg.

• To check out: A demolition derby Friday and Saturday night, entertainment like chainsaw-carving demonstrations and pig races, and tons of food and rides.
• Single-day tickets are $13.

🎡 Prince William County Fair

The fair at the county fairgrounds and event center in Manassas runs through Saturday.

• To check out: A monster truck show Friday and a demolition derby Saturday night, plus wine tastings, camel and pony rides, dog shows, and more.
• Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for kids.

🎡 Arlington County Fair

You have until Sunday to check out this fair held at Arlington's Thomas Jefferson Community Center.

• To check out: Live music , a petting zoo, a burrito-eating contest, a foam party, and all the rides and classic fair fuel , plus a food truck alley and beer garden.
• Admission is free; ride ticket prices vary.

What's next: Fair-heads will have plenty of opportunities to get their corndog on throughout the fall.
