    This weekend in D.C., check out the National Book Festival, Opera in the Outfield at Nats Park, Brunch and Beats at The Wharf and more.


    1. 📚 Meet award-winning authors

    The 24th annual National Book Festival is here with a day full of free family-friendly activities, book signings, author talks, panel discussions and more.

    • Over 90 authors will be there, including James Patterson, Max Greenfield, Tamron Hall and Doris Kearns Goodwin.

    Context: Axios D.C.'s Mimi Montgomery and Anna Spiegel are moderating two author talks.

    • See Mimi in conversation with Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, authors of " Angel of Vengeance ," from 1:30–2:30pm and Anna in conversation with "The Mango Tree" author Annabelle Tometich and "Praisesong for the Kitchen Ghosts" author Crystal Wilkinson for " Food, Family, Community " from 2:50–3:50pm.

    2. 🇮🇩 Wow! Indonesia Festival

    • Enjoy Indonesian culture with dance performances, food, martial arts, a fashion show and a parade from 10am to 6pm Sunday on Pennsylvania Avenue NW between Third and Seventh streets. Free .

    3. 🚶 Eight Days, Eight Wards, One City

    • Take a walking tour of D.C.'s wards and learn about the rich history of each. Saturday will feature tours of Congress Heights in Ward 8, Penn Branch in Ward 7 and Brookland in Ward 5. Free. Start times and locations here .

    4. 💃 D.C. Bachata Congress

    5. 🎶 Brunch & Beats

    • Listen to R&B, jazz and go-go while enjoying restaurants along Wharf Street 3–6pm Sunday at all five Wharf stages. Free .

    6. 👊 WWE Smackdown

    • Watch WWE Champions Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan and more 7:45pm Friday at Capital One Arena. Tickets start at $30 .

    7. 🎭 Opera in the Outfield

    • Watch "Turandot" on the big screen in Nats Park 6:30pm Saturday. Gates open at 4:30pm. Free .

    8. 💚 One Love Festival
