Back-to-school budgeting? Families can get free meals and deals at these D.C.-area spots.

Free ballpark eats: Kids eat free at Nationals Park every regular season home game (through Sept. 29). The deal includes a hot dog or veggie dog, chips and water for kids 12 and under.

🌮 Free Mexican: There's a reason families flood Surfside in Tenleytown on Monday nights — kids 12 and under eat free (tacos, quesadillas, tendies etc.) with the purchase of an adult entree.

🍻 Free booze: Boundary Stone in Bloomingdale sees parents' mid-week blues and raises them two free happy hour drinks for every kid's meal purchased on Wednesdays (5-7pm), or a free kid's meal for every adult meal ordered.

🌭 Free all day: Brookland Pint lets kids 12 and under eat free all day on Tuesdays (max two kids) with the purchase of an adult entree or burger.

🥪 Free sandwiches: Toasty sandwich chain Potbelly is offering a free kids combo meal (sandwich, water, applesauce and cookie) with the purchase of any entree, weekdays after 5pm, through September.

🍳 Budget-friendly brunch: Corso Italian in Shirlington serves up an all-you-can-eat deal for families: $29 bottomless brunch plates (plus $5 bellinis and bloodies) for adults, half-price for kids 12 and under, and free for littles 3 and below.

🎉 More freebies! Families that sign up for the Kids Club at local chain Silver Diner — which serves a health-minded, allergy-friendly menu alongside diner classics — get free meals and birthday freebies as part of the promo.
