Hailey Danz finally scored a gold medal in para triathlon and Ellie Marks earned five silver medals in para swimming, all coming home to Colorado.

State of play: At least four Paralympic athletes from Colorado earned medals in the Paris Games.

Colorado Springs' Danz took silver in the 2016 and 2020 games. Her first-place finish in Paris is her first gold medal since she began competing in 2011.

    • She won in convincing fashion and had time to grab a U.S. flag from a family member before crossing the finish line.

Marks, also from Colorado Springs, took a silver in her first race and final race in France, and three more in between, earning the privilege to carry the American flag at the closing ceremonies Sunday.

    • The three-time Paralympic swimmer now has 10 medals to her name.

Zoom in: Josh O'Neill from Colorado Springs earned a silver with the U.S. wheelchair rugby team and Beatriz Hatz won silver in women's long jump T64.
