It could be said these are dark times — the stormy skies have been relentless, and the Moon is about to literally cover up the Sun .

    • So we decided … we all deserve a drink.

The intrigue: What's more exciting than grabbing a cocktail after work? Getting a fun deal at a place with a particularly interesting happy hour menu.

    • We rounded up some of the best happy hour options around.

Ivy Kitchen + Cocktails: This cozy east-side restaurant in a revitalized building along East Jefferson Avenue has a 4-6pm happy hour Monday-Friday.

    • Its $8 offerings include craft cocktails, wine, wings, Buffalo cauliflower, calamari and dessert.

Jolly Pumpkin: The local chain's Midtown location , which it shares with Avalon International Breads, offers $2 off pizza, salads, wine, beer and cocktails 3-6pm, Tuesday-Friday.

    • Its cohabitant Avalon also advertises "Mimosa Mondays," which means $5 mimosas, plus buy-one-get-one for 25 cents "Fresh Cookie Fridays," and a morning happy hour every Thursday with $1 tea, $2 coffee and $2 muffins.

Ima Izakaya: Find a robust range of options at this unique Corktown restaurant, with seven small-plate options at $5 each, plus sushi and smoky grill skewers.

    • There's also alcohol, of course — beer, wine, sake and liquor, also all $5.
    • Monday-Friday, 3-6pm.

Good Vibes Lounge: The vibes are indeed good with this East English Village spot's 3-6pm happy hour each Wednesday-Friday.

    • Beer $3, wine $4, well cocktails $5 and $7-$8 appetizers including Buffalo chicken egg rolls, catfish nuggets and fried shrimp.

Basan: Happy hours can also be a less-intimidating way to try the food at a pricier place, like Basan near Little Caesars Arena.

    • Its new happy hour, which launched last month, includes three buns for $15, three skewers for $11 and a $16 sake flight with four servings. It's Sunday-Thursday, 4-6pm.

Maru: Those looking for a downtown option can try Maru , which offers wine, beer and sake as well as $6 edamame or gyoza and 15% off some sushi.

    • Tuesday-Friday, 4-6pm.

Shelby: Try this bar for speakeasy vibes behind Coffee Down Under downtown. Plan well for this short happy hour with $8 cocktails and $10 appetizers.

    • Tuesday-Friday, 5-6pm.

The Block: This mainstay's well-known happy hour goes an hour past most. Try beer and wine for $3, Tito's vodka for $6 and appetizers for $9.

    • Weekdays, 4-7pm.
