Houstonian Grant Ellis, a 30-year-old day trader, is the newest Bachelor looking for love.

The big picture: Ellis was revealed as the lead for the 29th season of "The Bachelor" after current Bachelorette Jenn Tran eliminated him at the end of an episode earlier this week.

What he's saying: "I'm so excited to kick off my journey of finding love, and I hope that you guys join me next year when the show premieres on ABC," he said to "Good Morning America."

    • "I'm looking for a love that's kind and understanding. Some qualities I'm looking for in a potential partner [are] somebody who's adventurous, somebody who's affectionate and somebody who's loving."

Here's what we know about Ellis:

    • He's a former pro basketball player who is also a self-proclaimed mama's boy, per his Bachelorette profile.
    • Ellis's secret talent is "beatboxing," which he performed for Tran in the first episode of "The Bachelorette."
    • He enjoys salsa dancing, bowling, karaoke, reading and poetry.

What's next: "The Bachelor" season 29 will premiere sometime in 2025, though the exact date has not been announced.

    • Fingers crossed for more beatboxing, horses and of course, roses.
