Miami music teacher and rock band frontman Ben Katzman is thriving on the CBS reality show "Survivor," where he avoided elimination in the season premiere last week.

Why it matters: Katzman, who is on the Siga tribe, is the ultimate Miami bro.

    • He's been nicknamed the "Vibe God" and "Dean of Cultural Affairs" by one of his tribe-mates and for good reason: He leads the metal band Degreaser but likes to play salsa music, too.
    • "We're Sur-vibing," another tribe-mate said. "It's all about the vibe."

How it works: Katzman and 16 other castaways must sur-vibe on the islands of Fiji, competing in physical and mental challenges as they fight to be the Sole Survivor and win $1 million.

What we're watching: Episode 2 of Season 46 airs Wednesday night at 8pm. You can stream it on Paramount+.

    • "I hope you enjoy the episode. You're in for a wild ride," Katzman tells Axios in an epic audio message.
