Why it matters: The Museum of Ice Cream is the latest tenant to open at Miami Worldcenter , a 27-acre mixed-use development that is still taking shape downtown.

• Sip on a sweet cocktail at the diner, zip down the slide and lounge in the surprisingly comfortable sprinkle pool.
• The kids will enjoy pretending to fly on an ice cream-themed airplane, unlocking secret passageways behind freezer doors and learning ice cream trivia.

The flavors: Your ticket includes free ice cream available at different spots around the museum.

• My favorite was the Beach Bomb, an orange-flavored parfait that is supposed to imitate the elements of a perfect beach day – sun, wind, sand and water.
• It's a dessert and a sensory experience: You wear headphones and fill out a bingo-like card with your favorite memories from the beach.
