Miamians top list with in-state travel with Airbnb

Local travel is booming, according to data from Airbnb .

State of play: In a recent study , Airbnb found that more people are opting to book rentals within 300 miles (about a tank of gas) from where they live.

• "Local travel is growing twice as fast as long-distance travel on Airbnb," a statement from the home rental company reads.

The big picture: Florida is among the top 10 states with the highest percentage of in-state travel, with more than 60% of residents opting to stay in-state in the first half of 2024, according to the study.

Where we're going: Miamians traveled most to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, Hallandale Beach, Cape Coral, Orlando and Tampa from June 2023 to June 2024, per Airbnb.
