    Jon Bon Jovi talks distraught woman off Nashville bridge

    Rocker Jon Bon Jovi helped a woman who was distraught and hanging off the side of the Seigenthaler Bridge in downtown Nashville on Tuesday night.

    Driving the news: Nashville police thanked Bon Jovi and his team for their part in helping persuade the woman to come off the ledge to safety.


    • Police released a dramatic video showing the woman, whom police did not identify, standing on the other side of the railing directly over the Cumberland River. A few pedestrians walked past, but Bon Jovi and the woman with him stopped and talked to her.
    • Bon Jovi leaned casually against the rail, engaging the woman in conversation. A few moments later, he helped the woman climb over the railing to safety.

    What he's saying: "It takes all of us to help keep each other safe," police chief John Drake said in a statement on X .

    Flashback: Bon Jovi opened a bar called JBJ's in Nashville's honky-tonk district this year.
