Tennessee Titans to start training camp

Fans get their first look at the revamped Tennessee Titans this week as the team reports to Nashville for training camp.

Why it matters: The Titans have made big changes during the offseason. There's a new head coach who reshaped the offense around quarterback Will Levis.

• Now it's time for the new team to emerge from the cocoon.

Driving the news: Training camp helps teams decide on their final lineups. Teams must trim their rosters from 90 to 53 by Aug. 27 .

By the numbers: The Titans report 35 members on their roster were brought on since the end of the last season.

What we're watching: The Titans' tattered offensive line got a lot of attention last year, when the team allowed 64 sacks on Levis during his rookie year. Only three teams in the league did worse last season.

• Coach Brian Callahan tapped his dad , a legendary offensive line coach in his own right, to help tackle the problem, and restocking the offense was a top draft priority .

The team has also moved to bolster its defense. They traded for cornerback L'Jarius Sneed and signed veteran safety Jamal Adams earlier this offseason.

• Adams has played in multiple Pro Bowls and could be a significant boon, but the 28-year-old has also faced tough injuries in recent years.

What's next: We're less than a month away from the preseason, which starts Aug. 10 with a home matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
